Genetics are a kind of design that forms living organisms from soil, water and air.
Some religions teach that a god inserted those genetics from outside of our physical universe. Can that be proved?
But the alternative seems almost as unlikely - that given enough time, life will spring from steril matter.
Is DNA somehow an integral and inevitable expression of the periodic table of elelments as described by inorganic chemistry? Do the remnants of exploding stars somehow contain the patterns of all living organisms? Is the complexity of consiousness a by-product of the molten material of a big bang that cooled to galaxies, star systems and planets?
